Homeschooling for Kids Who Don't Belong In a Box

Welcome to child led homeschooling with an emphasis on intuitive learning, awareness of self and others while fostering healthy attachment.

The world is a scary place right now, this is the cozy place for your kid to be where they can feel like they belong while building autonomy.

We know that every homeschooling / unschooling family is unique. You may be looking for more support on the academics side, social emotional learning and peer group exposure, or need help to homeschool while you work full-time (fun times).

We offer a judgment free space to help you to supplement what you are doing at home, and outsource some of the nurture and education to a trusted and enthusiastic team.

Please review the options below to see which programs are currently enrolling.

Because tours are required for younger participants, please pay attention to the encouraged step to explore and secure a spot for your child / children in our programs.

Homeschool Academics

The goal of this program is to answer the question, “when will I use this is real life?” Students will use hands on methods to connect concepts to context. Our community will be a mix of group work, individualized instruction, and hands on learning.

We will complement work at home in order to help students and parents with subjects they struggle with. We will build a community of learners who collaborate and teach each other.

September - Writers Workshop

Students will explore the basics of writing with purpose. For younger students this means forming letters and sentences. For older students, this means writing persuasive pieces and analyzing sources.

October - Measure Up!

Students will explore how we measure things! This will include using both standard and metric units as well as the basics of taking data and graphing.

November - Animals and Adaptations

Students will be introduced to basic biological families as well as use their powers of observation to find out many things about animals. We will also talk about the differences between humans and animals and how things adapt to their environment over time.

December - Energy

Students will explore the history of energy and electricity as well as look into the future. We will build our own renewable energy sources and present them to each other.

Time to build! Students will construct and build machines with a purpose. They will also explore common machines and how they work.

February - Economics and Money Management

Students will focus on money and how to manage it. We will talk about coins and bills with younger students as well as work on making change. Older students will be planning out a budget for a fictional business as well as figuring out profits and growth.

March - Space

Students will go out of this world and explore the planets and solar system. We will build solar system models and talk about how we measure distance in space. Students will also get the chance to read star maps and draw their own.

April - On the Map

Students will explore maps as well as learn where things are in the world. We will be using lots of maps, globes, and creating maps of our own communities.

May - Explorations

This month is all about a wrap up for the year. Students will get to dive deeper into a topic that interests them. They will create and present a final project using all the skills of reading, writing, math, and history.
